Reproductive Genetics Institute (RGI) opened its centre in London in 2002. The centre performs Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD) utilizing methodology developed by the RGI. We sample the first and second polar bodies as well as the blastomere. Testing at least three cells provides much more reliable results than the single blastomere biopsy (maximum two cells) carried out by other United Kingdom centres.

The centre offers its services to couples with more than two IVF failures, patients who have experienced recurrent miscarriages and women of advanced maternal age undergoing IVF treatment. PGD is strongly recommended to couples who have history of chromosomal or genetic abnormalities in their families (for more information visit PGD).

The centre collaborates with IVF practitioners who consider the PGD as a powerful IVF tool. We promote PGD programme in the UK and offer help in establishing own PGD services to local centres and clinics.

The center arranges and coordinates interactions between English patients and RGI's clinics around the world.
